This is indeed the last Rum Diary 7″ still for sale. The packing was all hand cut and silk screened by Daniel. One side features the title track from their newest album, “We’re Afraid of Heights Tonight.” On the other side…..is one of the most mysterious tracks that the band ever recorded, entitled “High Hawk.” Self recorded and mixed, the songs travels from a distant saloon piano accompanied by a native american wind flute, to the mescaline mood high plains, and finally crashes back to modernity with a haunting melody reminiscent of the Breakfast Club soundtrack. A strange combination.
Favorite lyric: “At sundown, the feathers arose through the branches like a centipede”
Tracks: Back in the Hardcore Days, High Hawk
