Retrospective 2000 - 2007 - The Rum Diary

Details: Marbled colored vinyl with vellum insert
Date: 2007

The 7 inch features the last song ever written by the Rum Diary entitled “Pyrrhic Victory,” a somber little tune with distant call and repsonse vocals, and an unsual guitar-solo-freak-out ala Wilco to end it. Also songs from The Jade Shader (members of No Knife, Pinback, The Black Heart Procession) and Years Around the Sun from San Diego, and Facing New York (members of Wallpaper.) from San Francisco. All songs are previosly unreleased and superb.

When chosing the color of the vinyl, I head that they requested the manufacturer to “just throw all the colors in and mix em around.” The result is a maroonish vinyl base with accents of just about every color you can think of. A very nice touch.
