Adam Hervey, 36, suffered a stroke on January 16, 2013, that left him effectively paralyzed on the left side of his body and unable to speak or swallow. After enduring a risky emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from one of the main arteries at the base of his brain, he is currently in an acute rehabilitation facility undergoing physical, speech, and occupational therapy to regain his basic functioning.
